Four Basic Rules for Website Design

First and foremost, your website should be easy to read. People should understand right away what the website is all about. When you write your content, remember that most web page readers do not read every word of a page. In fact, they only scan quickly to find what they want.

Break up Your Pages

Since people scan websites for quick information, break up your pages and use headers between major ideas. If possible, use headers between each paragraph. But always us good writing practice - sometimes a single concept may span over two or more paragraphs. Additionally, avoid long paragraphs that run on and on. You should break up any long paragraphs into smaller paragraphs.
